The Guild provides services to the Church, such as purchasing flowers for the
altar, candles, altar clothes, altar cleaning and care. In November of
2003, the Guild made possible the purchase of a brand new beautiful brass advent
wreath and holder. It was used for the first time on the First Sunday of
Advent, November 30, 2003. Also the
refurbishing of candle holders and oriental rugs. Also provided are
Christmas trees and decorations for the church. We take great pleasure in
hosting various activities such as the Confirmation Reception, the reception for
the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass, covered dish dinner and other special
projects.
In return members receive spiritual benefits. We are remembered at the
fourth weekend Mass every month. Deceased members are entitled to a
special Mass. Social rewards fall into place as you work side by side and
begin to know and love your fellow parishioners while friendships grow over your
lifetime.
The Guild sponsors an annual fund-raiser, the St. Patrick's Day Card Party,
which makes all of the benefits to the church listed above financially possible.
Our goal this year is to increase the active members, those who come to
the meetings and help make decisions which will benefit our church. We
also would like to see more young people (18 years and over) become active
members.
